Annandale Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) was founded in 1940 and is one of the twelve volunteer fire departments in Fairfax County. AVFD owns two stations and the front line fleet consists of two Ambulances, one Medic, two Engines, one Canteen unit.
The AVFD mission is to prevent and curtail the destruction of property by fire and to aid in the preservation of life, health and property by providing emergency and non-emergency services to the citizens of Annandale and Fairfax County.
